I tried to do some research on my own... but was at a dead end.
I am a tour guide at Bonaventure Cemetery. I became intrigued by two military headstones that are located there and wanted to know more about the soldiers, who died in the 1930s. I tried to do some research on my own, with ancestry.com and a few other sources, but was at a dead end. Two librarians at the Bull Street location hosted two Zoom meetings about genealogy.
I was too late to attend one as it was already full, but I did sign up for the second one. I found some tips. But more important, I was able to contact Cheri and Linda. They found some valuable information for me, including the obituaries that were published in the Savannah Morning News!
I will never know all there is about the mysteries of why these two soldiers are buried in our local cemetery, but I have uncovered much information. Thank you both Cheri and Linda!
