Question 1
Is there any flexibility in the timeline?
Answer: No.
Question 2
Do you have a defined budget for this Strategic Plan?
Answer: The budget for FY24 includes a range of $30,000-40,000 for the Strategic Planning process.
Question 3
What level of staff engagement are you hoping for? What level of participation in the process will the organization be able to support?
Answer: The expectation is that all library employees will be engaged and participate in the process. The Strategic Planning Committee will include staff members representing a cross-section of Live Oak Public Libraries' departments.
Question 4
Are there elements in the process, aside from the October 9 staff meeting, that LOPL wishes to be in person?
Answer: Required in-person elements in the process include Staff Day on October 9, 2023 and the Board Meeting presentation in July 2024. Preferred in-person elements include facilitation of specific community engagement activities.
Question 5
With the optional proposals listed as part of the RFP, does LOPL have additional funds to allocate, or would they need to be included as part of the overall budget?
Answer: The budgeted range includes the optional proposals.
Question 6
Who from the Live Oak Public Libraries will be leading the strategic plan development?
Answer: The strategic planning committee will lead the development process.
Question 7
What level of staff assistance will be available for gathering historical data and organizing stakeholder input sessions?
Answer: The Director of Communications will act as liaison for organizing sessions and gathering requested data.
Question 8
What is your budget range for the project, presuming the optional additional services are included?
Answer: Please see answers to Questions 2 and 5.
Question 9
People are frequently an organization’s most valuable asset. To what extent, if any, should the proposed work include an internal assessment of the library’s culture for consideration by the strategic planning committee?
Answer: Live Oak Public Libraries earned recognition as a Great Place To Work-Certified employer from a Great Place to Work, a global authority on workplace culture, employee experience, and leadership behaviors from 2021-2022. This certification is the only national recognition program based on the company’s methodology and validated employee feedback. While the proposed work will absolutely include all staff to get to a vision of our Library’s future work, (employees from across the system will be selected to be on the strategic planning committee) ultimately, we want the majority of the focus on strategic planning extended outward to our community, partners, and elected officials to help guide the needle on potential Live Oak projects and time investment.
