Non-fragile items from the Kole Room, including microfilm, are available to the public for in-house use Monday - Friday from 10 am - 6 pm by appointment only. Please email genealogystaff@liveoakpl.org or call 912.652.3697 ahead to schedule an appointment.  

This collection includes non-circulating material on genealogy and history in Georgia and Savannah:

  • Census materials, family histories, county histories and other genealogy materials
  • Civil War records, Colonial, Revolutionary, and Confederate records of Georgia
  • Gamble Collection of maps, manuscripts and pictures pertaining to Savannah history
  • Newspapers, Savannah telephone books, city directories, and Sanborn maps
  • Savannah Morning News on microfilm from 1763 to present
