Kaye Kole Genealogy & Local History Room

Non-fragile items from the Kole Room, including microfilm, are available to the public for in-house use during library operating hours. Please inquire with staff to access.

This collection includes non-circulating material on genealogy and history in Georgia and Savannah:

  • Census materials, family histories, county histories and other genealogy materials
  • Civil War records, Colonial, Revolutionary, and Confederate records of Georgia
  • Gamble Collection of maps, manuscripts and pictures pertaining to Savannah history
  • Newspapers, Savannah telephone books, city directories, and Sanborn maps
  • Savannah Morning News on microfilm from 1763 to present

The Bull Street Library Career Center offers extended-time computers for you to conduct a job search, fill out an application, or take an online test. Ask for more info at the Reference Desk on the 2nd Floor.
