Cardholders now get unlimited digital access to The New York Times!

As a Live Oak Public Libraries patron, you now have free access to everything The New York Times has to offer online, including News, Games, Cooking, Wirecutter and The Athletic! 

Here’s how to get started exploring:

ACCESS FROM THE LIBRARY

Access The New York Times While Visiting the Library:

  1. Visit nytimes.com using any device. Ensure you are using the library’s WiFi connection.

  2. Go to the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Click on “Log in” to create a free account or log-in to your existing account. 
  3. You now have full access to all journalism on nytimes.com while logged in at the library.

ACCESS FROM ANYWHERE:

Whether you are at the library or at home, you have unlimited access to the full world of the New York Times—including apps—from anywhere with 24-hour access codes!

  1. CLICK HERE to get your 24-hour access code.
  2. Your code will auto-populate. Click redeem.
  3. Register for a free account or log in to your existing account.
  4. After receiving confirmation that your access code is valid, you will have 24-hours of complimentary access to the full world of The New York Times, including News, GamesCooking, Wirecutter and The Athletic.

  5. Once your 24-hour access code expires, you can simply repeat the process from Step 1 to redeem another code.

 

 

FAQs

Will I get emails from the New York Times?

  • Yes, by creating a nytimes.com account, you will get emails about purchasing an individual subscription to the NYT. However, you can unsubscribe to these promotional emails, and the NYT will honor your request.

Can I save items and access them across devices?

  • Yes, when you are logged in with your NYT account, you can save an article for later. This list of items saved for later will be accessible on any device, when you log in to your NYT account.

Does this subscription include the crossword?

  • No, the NYT crossword is not available with the library’s subscription. Other puzzles from the NYT are available though, including the mini crossword.

Once my 24-hour access code runs out, can I get another one?

  • Yes. Just follow the same steps that you did to get the first one.
