Bibliotherapy: A Mental Health Reading List
Bibliotherapy, which is a creative arts therapy, aims to promote better understanding of one’s mental health and involves storytelling or reading with the purpose of healing. Oftentimes, it uses an individual’s relationship to the book’s content as the base of its therapy. This type of therapy is also based around the idea of reading something and then discussing the content to help further improve your understanding and overall state of your mental health. And this form of therapy can include both fiction and nonfiction literature that tackles the topic of mental health.
