Congratulations! Your child can read! This is the stage when you encourage kids to pick out books on their own - based on their interests and preferences. Still, no one is ever too old for a good read-aloud! Even if kids are reading primarily on their own, parents and caregivers can help find the types of books kids like and direct them towards suitable choices.
