Effingham County Library Services: Facts, Stats & Updates

On November 19, 2025, Live Oak Public Libraries Effingham County Library Board voted unanimously to separate the Rincon and Springfield branch libraries from the LOPL regional system. The separation is expected to be finalized by June 30, 2026. We will continue to update the community on next steps as this transition occurs.

As Georgia residents, you will always be welcome to borrow materials and resources from Live Oak Public Libraries and to visit any of our branches in Chatham and Liberty Counties, even after the Rincon and Springfield libraries leave the system.

LOPL believes it is vital that citizens and patrons are fully informed. We are committed to transparency and accuracy ensuring that everyone has the facts needed to understand and respond as this process moves forward.

This public webpage has been created to share timely updates and information with our stakeholders.
